The National Honor Society (NHS) is a prestigious organization that aims to push outstanding high school students to the next level. Burlington's NHS chapter inducted four new members on September 28. New inductees applied in the spring and were chosen by a faculty panel. This is the second year that Burlington has participated in NHS. Three of the members were inducted last year; those members are Brianna McGee, Mylee Sims, and Sterling Stewart. This year four students were inducted into the National honor society, including Emily Klippenstein, Hailey McCullough, Ranee Russell, and Paige Stoner. The NHS chapter advisor is Mrs. Raye Lyn Bird. The students are required to maintain a 3.5 grade point average, serve as leaders and an example to their peers, and participate in service activities. The NHS president is Sterling Stewart, vice president is Mylee Sims, secretary is Brianna McGee, and the treasurer is Hailey McCullough.
