In the six weeks I have been the senior pastor of Alva Church of the Nazarene, I have felt led to talk about our mission as Christians to make disciples for the nations and specifically for Alva. In the Gospel of Matthew 28:19-20 (NASB), we find the great commission, given to the disciples right before Jesus ascended into heaven. Here is what it says: “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
