Northwestern men's golf wins Ranger Invite

ENID – The Ranger men's golf team concluded the home invite on Tuesday afternoon. The two-day tournament was in Enid at the Meadowlake Golf Course. Northwestern had two teams in the tournament along with three individuals.

Northwestern placed first overall in the tournament with a consistent 284 in both rounds for a total of 568. The Rangers also placed third in the tournament with the (B) team with a final of 578 with a 290-288 in the two rounds.

Pierce Geminden was first overall in the tournament with a final total of 139. He had a 68 in the round one to tie the Ranger record of lowest individual round in program history. Geminden finished with 20 pars, eight birdies, the second highest in the tournament, and one Eagle.

Max Courange was tied for second in the tournament with a total of 140 after back to back rounds of 70 on both days. He finished the tournament with 19 pars, six birdies and a tournament high of three eagles. One of those eagles included a hole in one for Courange on hole 15.

Next for Northwestern was Matti Zerwin placing fourth overall in the tournament with a 141 following rounds of 71-70. Zerwin had the second highest birdies with eight tied for the team high with Germinden. Zerwin also had 21 pars through the two days.

Cade Seymour was sixth overall in the Ranger Invite with a final of 142 after 72 and a 70 improving on the second day. Seymour had 24 pars in the tournament with five birdies and one Eagle.

Tied for 11th in the tournament was Keenan Hofstad and Caden Holmes finishing with a 145. Hofstad had a 74 followed by a 71 which included 24 pars alongside six birdies. Holmes had 24 pars with five birdies in the tournament.

Oscar Geber finished the tournament tied for 16th with 147 after having rounds of 74-73. Geber finished with 19 pars, and six birdies. Noah Carpenter was the other Ranger tied in 16th with a 147 after shooting a 74 before knocking it down to a 73. Carpenter had 24 pars and four birdies.

Max Garza finished 32nd in the tournament with a 155 following a 78-77 two round performance. Garza finished with 20 pars in the invitational and two birdies.

The Rangers had three individuals in the tournament and the first one was Jack Beaver placing 36 in the tournament with final marking of 161 after scores of 77-84. Beaver finished with 12 pars and four birdies in the tournament.

Aryan Buttar finished 38th in the tournament with a score of 162 after an 81-81 in the two days followed by T.J. Kim with a 163 after an 81 and 82. Buttar had 15 pars and three birdies for the tournament while Kim finished with 16 pars and two birdies.

Overall in the tournament the Rangers finished first followed by Texas Wesleyan and then the Ranger B team. Northwestern had two of the first three individuals in Pierce Geminden and Max Courange. Courange tied Bryan de Jonge of Texas Wesleyan to round out the top three.
