Northwestern women's golf places first at Ranger Invite

ENID – Northwestern's golf team hosted their annual Ranger Invitational tournament on Monday and Tuesday at Meadowlake Golf Course in Enid. The Rangers had two teams placing first overall in the tournament and fourth.

Northwestern Oklahoma State finished +59 in the tournament on Tuesday after a 317 in round one with a 310 in the second round totaling a 627 for the tournament.

The leader for the Rangers was Romane Lacoste tying for first place through the two rounds. She was tied with Clara Peake of Redlands CC. Peake took first after a tiebreaker on hole three. R. Lacoste finished with 23 pars tied for first in the tournament with A. Lacoste. She also had three birdies which was second in the tournament overall and tied for first for the Rangers.

Tess Linden and Agathe Lacoste tied for third overall in the tournament and was second for Northwestern. Linden improved in the second round after a 78 in round one finished with a 76 for a total of 154. A. Lacoste matched that score with a 78-76 between the two rounds for 154. Lacoste had 23 pars in the tournament along with two birdies.

Next for Northwestern was Addison Furtick and Madison Kerr both finishing with 167 tying for 10th place in the invitational. Furtick finished with a low of 82 between the two rounds improving by three from round one. Kerr had her lowest round in the first with an 83. Kerr had 12 pars along with two birdies. Furtick finished with 16 pars in the invitational.

Kentyn Clark placed 12th in the tournament with a final of 175 following an 87-88 between the two rounds of the tournament. Clark finished with seven pars through the two days and three birdies for the tournament.

Next the Rangers had two more ties for 14th overall as Heather Hunkele and Kaley Maxey finished with 177. Hunkele had a 88-89 two rounds while Maxey finished with 89-88 improving by one on day two. Hunkele had 10 pars in the tournament along with one birdie. Maxey finished with 10 pars in the tournament.

Audrey Jaworsky had a final total of 182 having a 91 in each of the two rounds placing 19th overall in the tournament. Jaworsky finished the two days with 11 pars.

Kelsey Hoy-Pollard was 22nd in the tournament having a 184 following a 90-94 for the tournament. Hoy-Pollard had eight pars. Ella Bouse finished 23rd overall after improving by seven in round two after a 101-94 two rounds.

Overall Northwestern won the Rangers Invite by 25 with the next team Newman finishing with a 652. Clara Peake, Romane Lacoste, and Tess Linden/Agathe Lacoste were the top three individual finishers.
