Four injured in Grant County wreck

Four people were injured in a two-vehicle wreck in Grant County on Tuesday. The collision occurred at 4:40 p.m. at County Road Grady and County Road 970, which is 5.4 miles east and three miles north of Pond Creek.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a juvenile male (name withheld), age 17, of Medford, was driving a 2023 Toyota Corolla four-door north on County Road 970. He stopped at the stop sign then pulled out in front of a 2014 Ford F150 pickup truck driven by Larry L. Aldrich, 73, of Derby, Kansas. The pickup was westbound on County Road Grady. The front passenger door of the pickup struck the front passenger door of the car.

The driver of the Toyota was transported by Miller EMS to Integris Bass Baptist Hospital in Enid and then flown by Air Evac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was admitted for trunk internal and trunk external injuries and listed in stable condition.

A passenger in the Toyota, Alexander T. Leverich, 25, of Medford, was pinned in the vehicle for approximately 20 minutes until extricated by the Pond Creek Fire Department. Leverich was taken by Miller EMS to Integris Bass in Enid and then flown by Air Evac to OU Medical in Oklahoma City. He was admitted for trunk internal, trunk external, head, leg and arm injuries and listed in stable condition.

The pickup driver and a passenger, Arleigh Patricia Aldrich, 63, of Derby, Kansas, were transported by Miller EMS to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid. Both were treated and released.

Trooper Linda Hartley investigated the scene assisted by Trooper Kris Franta along with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Pond Creek Fire Department.
