ALVA – The Great American Conference released their annual conference poll on Thursday afternoon. Northwestern was voted seventh by the conference coaches with Southern Nazarene leading the way.
Southern Nazarene earned 117 total points from the votes including the most first place votes in seven of the 12. Harding is second with 115 points taking the final five first place votes as one of two teams getting first place votes. Oklahoma Baptist rounds out the top three in the poll with 90 points.
Arkansas Tech comes in at fourth in the poll followed by Henderson State in fifth with 81 in total. Ouachita Baptist is sixth in the poll after receiving 64 points.
Next are the Rangers with 54 points in total for seventh place in front of Southeastern in eighth place with 47.
Southern Arkansas is placed in ninth overall with 41 just a head of East Central in 10th at 39 points. Southwestern and Arkansas Monticello close out the poll in 11th and 12th with 35 and 21 points in the poll.
The Lady Rangers will open the season on Nov. 10 at 5:30 p.m. against Northeastern State University. The team's first home game will be on Nov. 14 against Kansas Christian College with tip-off at 5:30 p.m.
