The senior class presents their "In our tiger hunting era" float for Burlington's homecoming pep rally.

Spirit Week started in 1952 at Palo Alto High School, in what was originally called Friendship Week. Friendship Week was used to welcome back students before it became the celebration that we all know as spirit week.

This year, Burlington School's annual spirit week was an amazing lead-up to Saturday's basketball homecoming. Many students who participated in spirit week dress-up days had a blast. There were five dress-up days this year centered around the theme "In our Elks Era." The dress-up days were pajama era, color war era, twin era, country vs. city era, and purple era.

Not just the students got to participate in this week of festivities as the teachers dressed up alongside the students. Some teachers even participated in both the twin era and the color war era along with students.

The week ended with a parade of floats by the seventh-grade through 12th-grade classes and a rousing all-school pep rally, readying students for homecoming games.

What student doesn't want to come to school in their pajamas? These kindergarten cuties fully participated in the opportunity during "pajama era" day for Burlington's spirit week.
