Alva Band of Gold brings home trophies

The two Oklahoma high school bands at the Liberty Bowl bring home plenty of honors. Alva is on the left and Oolagah on the right.
The Alva Band of Gold was one of two Oklahoma high school bands invited to participate in the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tennessee. The band marched in the bowl parade down Beale Street and was part of the halftime performance at the bowl game.
It was a successful trip for the band, directed by Adam Steuart. The AHS Band of Gold won the following:
• Outstanding General Effect
• Outstanding Drum Major
• Outstanding Parade Marching
• Outstanding Music
• Parade Competition
• Field Show Competition
• Overall Competition
The band returned home to Alva Saturday.
The Alva High School Band of Gold holds a practice session before participating in the Liberty Bowl festivities in Memphis, Tennessee.
