Monday under new business, the Woods County Commissioners discussed work at the Alva and Waynoka senior citizen buildings. Present for the meeting were Chairman Randy McMurphy and commissioners David Hamil and John Smiley.

McMurphy said he did some checking on the possibility of USDA grants. He said in each case, the grants must be applied for by the city. The grants are based on the income of residents in the community. He said Alva could apply for a grant based on 15 percent of the project cost up to $50,000.
