Ranger men's track and field completes split squad weekend at Wichita State and Pittsburg State

KANSAS – Northwestern Oklahoma State men's track and field team did a split squad this past week as the team competed at the Wilson Invitational Meet in Wichita, Kansas, and the Pittsburg State Invitational in Pittsburg, Kansas, on Saturday. Over the weekend the Rangers had two new school records set one by Trevor Montayne in the men's 60-meter dash, and the men's distance relay run by Riley Herndon, Jayden Geathers, Christian Franklin, and Brandon Adolphus.

Wilson Invitational

Isai Aguilar was the only Ranger to compete in the Heptathlon this week, placing 16th overall in the event finishing with 3,725 points.

The next event for the Rangers saw three athletes compete in this event: Salat Ibrahim placing 13th overall in the meet with a time of 16:15.08, followed by Zachary Cox at 16:34.32 and Aaron Medrano at 16:37.08. All three placed in the top 25 of the event.

In the long jump, Tommy Desir was the No. 1 finisher for the Rangers, placing 37th overall with a mark of 5.24 meters in the event.

In the 60 meter, two Rangers placed inside the top 60 of the event: Terrence Marfo finished with a time of 7.24 and right behind him was Kyler Moore with a time of 7.25 for 54th in the event.

In the one-mile run, the Rangers were represented well with three Top 20 finishers. Crispus Atukwatse was the first Ranger to finish with a time of 4:43.19, followed by Muneer Suied placing 18th and Basheer Suied in 20th for the run.

In the 400 meter, two Rangers competed: Tommy Desir and Caleb Morgan. Desir placed in the top 35 of the event with a 35th place finish with a time of 55.89 while Morgan placed 42nd in the meet.

Crispus Atukwatse led the way for the Rangers in the 1000-meter event, placing 19th overall with a final time of 2:43.78.

In the 200-meter event, three Rangers placed in the top 50. The first was Kyler Moore, who paced the Rangers with a 39th place finish and a time of 23.94, followed by Jaron Burks in 43rd and Ryne Neil in 46th.

In the 3,000 meter, the Rangers were led by Salat Ibrahim placing ninth overall in the meet with a time of 9:05.97 and Edward Robledo-Gonzalez with a time of 9:28.40 placing 20th.

Pittsburg Invitational

In the 60 meter hurdles, the Rangers had Jayden Geathers place 30th overall in the meet with a final time of 8.62.

Next for Northwestern in the 60-meter dash, Ranger Trevor Montayne ran a time of 7.08 for 40th in the event.

The Rangers also competed in the 4x400 meter relay placing 21st overall which was run by Trevor Montayne, Christian Franklin, Karlo Bogdan, and Wesley Hall with a time of 3:26.05.

The final one for the Rangers was the distance relay, where they placed 11th overall with a time of 10:36.58 run by Riley Herndon, Wesley Hall, Christian Franklin and Brandon Adolphus.
