4-Hers attend second annual Etiquette First event

On Sunday afternoon, Feb. 11, twelve 4-h members were treated to a pre-Valentine's formal dinner at The Runnymede courtesy of the Grow and Share OHCE group. Charolette Hadwiger, Business and Industry Services director, Northwest Technology Center, provided members with tips for introductions and handshakes.

The group then moved to tables where they learned rules for formal dining. Hadwiger provided the group with dining etiquette rules on being seated, using a napkin, navigating the numerous silverware and plate options and many other helpful pieces of information. The 4-H members were served a four-course meal by members of Grow and Share OHCE and other volunteers. Moore's Venture Foods catered the meal including roast beef with mashed potatoes and green beans. Grow and Share members prepared salad, soup, rolls and chocolate delight for dessert.

4-H members attending the event were Klarc Gilchrist, Zane Ream, McKenzi Storer, Lawson Ream, Tayleigh Williams, Saige Cline, Maddie Gum, Hadly Smith, Nivia Levario, Asa Thomas, Kanon Gilchrist and Zane Zimmerman.

Volunteers helping with the event were Susan Holliday, OSU Extension Educator, Carol McDaniel, Carol Erikson and Janet Cunningham. Grow and Share members preparing food were Cheryl Diefenbach, Carol McDaniel, Tamre McGinnis and Jean Moore. Grow and Share OHCE serves as the Cultural Enrichment Committee for Woods County.
