Trevor Saire earns GAC Player of the Week

ALVA – Northwestern Oklahoma State baseball completed a three game sweep over East Central this past weekend. Rangers center fielder Trevor Saire earned Great American Conference player of the week for Week 10 of the season.

Saire helped the Rangers to score 35 runs in the three-game series. He has now hit in six straight games all multi-hit games and eight of his last nine games have been with at least two hits.

This past week Saire hit .727 (8-11) at the plate, including two home runs and four extra base hits. He came across to score four runs as well. His average climbed from .270 to .310 on the season.

In Game 1, Saire drove in at the time the go-ahead run on an RBI double, one of his three hits in the Friday contest. Game 2 of the series Saire hit a two-run home run in the game on his way to a two for three game at the plate.

The final game of the series Saire finished with three hits in the win while driving in three runs and scoring three runs as well. He homered in his second straight game in the win over East Central.

Saire becomes the second Northwestern player to earn the conference player of the week award this season as Carson Wright won in Week 1 and Week 6.
