Graveside services for Douglas Rawling Lynch were held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 13, 2024, at Alva Municipal Cemetery. A memorial service was then held at 1 p.m., Monday, May 13, 2024, at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel. Services are under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.
Douglas Rawling Lynch was born to Robert R. and Madge (Decker) Lynch on July 10, 1952, in Queens, New York. He passed away May 8, 2024, in Oklahoma City at the age of 71 years, 9 months, 28 days.
He grew up in Redington Beach, Florida. Douglas graduated from Seminole High School in Seminole, Florida, in 1970. He went into the United States Navy in 1970 where he proudly served his country. Douglas attended university and earned his bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
Douglas was united in married to Marietta S. Hiett on December 23, 1973, in Indian Rocks, Florida. Douglas and his wife moved to Alva in 2011. He was a big sports fan and loved rooting for the Sooners. Douglas and his wife loved to travel, cook and Bible study together.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Bobby Lynch; and his son, Robert Francis Lynch in 2002.
Douglas is survived by his wife Marietta of Alva and many other friends.
