September 16, 2016

When a man on North Sunset in Alva came home and found his front door open but still locked on Sunday, Sept. 4, he attributed it to the recent earthquake activity. However, on Thursday, Sept. 8, Ryan Clark went to the closet in his spare bedroom to retrieve his shotguns to clean them. He discovered the guns and a couple more items missing.

Clark told Alva Police Officer William Shahan besides the two shotguns, a bag containing a pair of binoculars and a camo range finder was also missing. Clark said when he found the front door standing open, he saw damage to the inside of the door where the door handle latches to the frame.

Items stolen are a black Benelli SBE 2 12 gauge shotgun valued at $1,700, a black Benelli MS 12 gauge shotgun valued t $1,400, black Vortex Razors binoculars valued at $1,200, and a camo Bushnell Elite 1 Mile ARC Range Finder valued at $600.
