Rangers fall to ECU in hard-fought match

Score: East Central 4 – Northwestern 1

Records: East Central (1-4-1, 1-0 GAC) Northwestern (0-6, 0-2 GAC)

Northwestern Oklahoma State women’s soccer was defeated by conference foe East Central Thursday night by a final score of 4-1.

Individual Leaders

Yazmin Gomez led the offensive charge for the Rangers with four shots with two of them begin shots on goal and one of them finding the back of the net for a goal.

Bailey Jarvis had two shots as well unfortunately neither was a shot on goal.

Kelsey Henneha assisted on the Gomez goal leading the Black and Red in that category.

Game Changer

The Tigers jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead to start the game.

Northwestern was able to tie the game at 1-1 in the 20th minute on a Yazmin Gomez second goal.

The Tigers answered with a late first period goal to regain the lead and never looked back.

News and Notes

Yazmin Gomez has played in only two games for the Rangers and has recorded a goal in each one.

Up Next

The Rangers return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 27, as they travel to face off against non-conference opponent Oklahoma Christian University at 7 p.m.
