Misfit Monsters reveal real life struggle

"From the Grave" is the new novel written by former Alva resident Cynthia Reeg. The book, aimed at the middle school age group, tackles the ongoing problems of bullying and prejudice.

In a real life world where monsters reveal themselves in the form of bullying, incessant peer pressure and low self-esteem, Cynthia Reeg uses fictionalized creatures to address the prevalent middle school problems.

The Jolly Fish Press recently published Reeg's book, "From the Grave," the first installment of a two-book series titled "Monster or Die."

Reeg describes her new book as "set in a crazy monster world where misfit monsters are trying to show that they belong."
