Alva woman fatally injured

An Alva woman was fatally injured in a two-vehicle collision Saturday morning in Major County. Jolene Jacobs, 29, of Alva was taken by the Waynoka EMS to Fairview Medical Center. She was pronounced dead at the hospital from head and trunk internal injuries.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports the collision occurred at 11:22 a.m. Oct. 29 at the intersection of U.S. Highway 281 and U.S. Highway 412. The location is 15 miles west of Orienta.

Jacobs was northbound on U.S. Highway 281 in a 1990 Pontiac Grand Am. The OHP says she failed to yield from a stop sign at the intersection with U.S. Highway...
