Beta Eta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi meeting

October 30, 2016

The members of Beta Eta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met recently in the home of Cherie Lau with seven members and one guest present.

A very informative presentation was given by Sandra Koehn, secretary of the Woods County Election Board. She told about readying the electronic voting machines for elections and all the checks and balances the employees are required to do before election day, also stating they have issued more absentee ballots and registrations than in recent years. If you cannot vote on election days, there are early voting days. She also stressed the importance of taking some form of identification to the election polls with you when you go to vote. That is a state law voted in by the citizens of Oklahoma. Call the election board office for more information.

The opening ritual was recited followed by the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting. Committee reports were given. Roll call was answered by giving a memory of our recently deceased member, Mary Henson. Everyone remembered her friendly manner and smile.

This month’s social was a game night held at the Cherokee Strip Museum with everyone bringing finger foods and a game to play. Six members were present for a fun evening while trying to decide on which rules of the game to use.

The next meeting will be Nov. 3 in the home of Charla Parker with Beverly Little serving as co-hostess.
