The Alva FFA has been busy with many events including the national convention, which was held in Indianapolis, Indiana. On the trip up to convention, the officer team stopped at Lambert's Cafe and stopped halfway at St. Louis to see the arch and eat at Hard Rock Cafe.

During the convention they watched as past FFA members Courtney Mapes and Dakota Nusser walked across the stage to receive their American FFA Degree.

They went to Fair Oaks Farms, where they had a tour of a commercial dairy farm and pig operation. They also attended a haunted attraction and participated in a team laser tag activity and were able to attend a Chris Yount and Cole Swindle concert. They had the opportunity to go back stage and do a meet and greet with Chris Young.

The chapter received a two star national chapter award; Cathy Mapes and Julie Owen were able to walk across stage to receive it.

The Alva FFA officer team were asked to be official national delegates for the last general session and had the opportunity to sit on the national convention floor.

The shooting sports team was able to participate in the Connors State trap shoot. Shadi Nettles and Jakob O'Brien were able to move on to the Area I Conservation District speech contest. Nettles received second in her division and is moving on to the state contest.

On Nov. 5 the chapter also held a barn dance and members of the Fairview, Burlington, Cherokee, Deer Creek Lamont and Thomas chapters attended.

On Nov. 15 the officers had an all-school middle school assembly where they discussed the opportunities the FFA has given the officers and also answered some misconceptions of the FFA.
