Woods County commissioners make exchange on railroad crossings

The Woods County commissioners announced a deal with the BNSF Railway company to close one railroad crossing in exchange for getting automatic crossing bars on three other crossings. The one to be permanently closed is the Lake Road crossing near Avard Lake. BNSC describes it as very dangerous and would like to see it go away.

If the county will do that, the railroad firm will put a second gate crossing within Hopeton, another northwest of Dacoma at County Road 480, and one at Eagle Chief Avenue in Avard.
