Pink Jones led six players in double-figures as the Henderson State women's basketball team beat Southeastern Oklahoma 92-84, Saturday in Durant, Okla.

The win kept Henderson atop the Great American Conference standings as the Reddies improved to 4-0 in league play and 4-4 overall.

Jones scored a game-high 20 points to record her eighth game in double-figures. Jones, who ranks second in the GAC in scoring averaging 16.3 points per game as a true freshman, posted a double-double having 10 rebounds.

Bree Bossier followed Jones with 15 points with Torrie Thompson adding 14 points. Haleigh Henson and Blu Jones poured in 11 points each, while Hailey Estes scored 10 to go along with eight rebounds.

-Henson hit 3-of-8 from the 3-point arc to set the Henderson career record for 3-pointers with 174, passing Linda Lyle who had 173 long-range jumpers from 1996-2000.

Henderson held a 19-17 lead at the end of the first-quarter, but it was a late second quarter surge that gave the Reddies a 44-34 halftime lead, a lead they would never relinquish.

Leading 35-32 with 3:55 left in the second quarter, Henderson went on a 9-2 run to end the half, sparked by a pair of buckets by Pink Jones and a 3-point field goal by Estes.

SOSU, 4-3 overall and 3-1 in GAC play, would cut the deficit to a single possession on three occasions in the second half including late in the game with 1:13 to play. However, a layup by Bossier and a pair of free throws by Pink Jones pushed the lead back to 7 with 31 seconds to play.

Henderson finished the game shooting 44 percent from the field (31-of-70) including 58 percent in the final quarter. The defense limited the Storm to 40 percent from the field (29-of-73).

Another big key was free throw shooting as Henderson shot 76 percent from the charity stripe making 19-of-25 attempts.

The Reddies outrebounded SOSU 50 to 45. Henderson is unbeaten when outrebounding their opponents.

Henderson will next travel to Claremore, Okla. for a non-conference contest against Rogers State next Saturday with tipoff set for 2 p.m.
