Four Alva 4-H members attended the Alva City Council meeting to present the 2016 Tree City USA Award for the City of Alva. Each spoke in turn about the tree projects of the 4-H and gave background information about the award. Speaking were Cathy Mapes, Julie Owen, Joe Parsons and Max Parsons. They were accompanied by sponsor Michelle Mapes.
Council members present were Danny Winters, Bryce Benson, Chris Eckhardt, Brandon Sherman, Mary Hamilton, Bo Hannaford and Steve Valencia. Absent was Randy Stelling.
