Barber County EMS director wins Prairieland Chili Cookoff

AND THE WINNER IS ... the Barber County EMS in Kiowa. Their director Mike Loreg concocted a roaster full of tasty chili that the judges selected as their first place winner of the Annual Prairieland Chili Cookoff during Kiowa's "Christmas in the Heartland." The EMS chili also won the "People's Choice" award. The judges selected the spicy version made by Michaela Kirkwood as the second-place winner and the chili made by Bobby Drake for third place. Prairieland representative Josh Myers presents the prize, a tow rope made and donated by Custom Rope of Kiowa. EMTs Anna Schurter and Laura Wagenbach accept the gift on behalf of their crew and said the rope is a perfect addition to the ambulance.
