The Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) seminar has been running since the summer of 1958. Four Alva High School (AHS) sophomores have recently been accepted to attend the June seminar held at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) in Edmond. The students are Stephanie Spellman, Landry Gaddy, Gracie Scarbrough and Karson Henke. Two alternates, Caitlin Hofen and Jake Ervin, were also picked in the scenario that one or two of the campers would not have the ability to attend.
