A public reception was held Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 10, at the Runnymede in Alva. The meeting, conducted by the LifeWize Center of Oklahoma City, included State Director Gwendolyn Poteat, who was present to explain the LifeWize program.

The group is described by Poteat as a descendant of an earlier organization called Focus on the Family, headed by psychologist James Dobson, who has since retired. The purpose of LifeWize is to educate young preteens and teens on making better choices for a better future.
