January 13, 2017

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist concludes its brief Great American Conference home stand Saturday with a 1 p.m. contest against East Central.

OBU has a 20-19 edge in the all-time series. OBU lost in Ada last year but bounced back with a 40-point improvement in the Noble Complex. East Central has not swept the season series since 1992-93.

Both teams are coming off of losses. The Lady Bison (4-9, 1-6) fell to Southeastern Oklahoma State despite a rally from 12 points down in the fourth quarter. East Central (2-9, 1-6) lost by 21 at home to Southwestern Oklahoma State.

OBU's Lexi Williams is coming off her biggest scoring game of the season with a 19-point outing against Southeastern. It was her second time to lead the Lady Bison in scoring.

Tasha Edge leads the Lady Bison, averaging 14 points and 8.5 rebounds.

Devon Branch and Whitney Stotler are averaging a combined 24 points for the season but have turned things up in conference games, getting a combined 31 points per game.

The Lady Bison need eight more wins to make it to the NCCAA postseason with 15 games remaining. OBU needs to go 8-7 to reach the self-imposed .400 record to qualify for the playoffs.
