Rep. Carl Newton talks to Chamber Breakfast crowd

Freshman Rep. Carl Newton participated in his first "Eggs and Issues" breakfast Friday morning. These meetings are held monthly during the legislative session by the Alva Chamber of Commerce. Newton kept his remarks relatively short, yielding more time to Sen. Bryce Marlatt.
When asked about Gov. Mary Fallin's sales tax plan that will bring hundreds of previously non-taxed services under the sales tax law, Newton said, "Everybody is talking about her plan. And we've agreed that everything is on the table to discuss. We're close to a $1 billion budget hole this year."
