Watchful waiting pretty much describes the activity on the wildfire front in northwest Oklahoma Saturday. The Oklahoma Forestry Service reports not a lot changed on the fires since Friday. Minimal spots of active fire were observed. It seems to be mostly a matter of patrolling the area and waiting for the final bits of fuel such as thick tree trunks to be consumed. Congressman Frank Lucas was expected to visit the area on Saturday.
Friday, the Oklahoma Forestry Service released an updated map of the Northwest Complex Fires showing the burned areas from aerial mapping.
