Updating Alva's water system comes with $2 million price tag

The City of Alva peak water usage per day stands at 3 million gallons while the water storage capacity is 2.25 million gallons, says Bill Myers, engineer with Myers Engineering. He spoke to the Alva Utility Authority Monday, March 20. The utility authority met following the city council adjournment. The board consists of members of the council.

After experiencing water pressure problems with the sprinkler system at the Alva Recreation Complex last year, the city started examining possible solutions. This eventually led to the discovery of numerous problems in the aging and cobbled together sys...
