Track & Field Sees Continued Improvement in Texas

ABILENE, Texas – SWOSU Track and Field made a midweek adjustment to their weekend destination and competed at the Hardin-Simmons Invitational on Saturday in Abilene, Texas.

SWOSU had several top performances, including more athletes who set new personal bests at the event. The Bulldogs saw 11 athletes finish in the top five of their event, including a first-place finish from Dani Whiting in the 3000-meter steeplechase and second-place finishes from Allison Denson (200 meter), Jordan Caulkins (high jump) and Alexis Jefferson (triple jump).

"Our team had another great day at the track and a few of our athletes picked up personal bests," SWOSU Head Coach Shane Brookshire said. "Kylie Ezell broke the school record by a hundredth of a second in the 800m and our 4x400m team ran 4:19.71, nearly 13 seconds faster than any of our previous 4x400m teams. Alexis Jefferson picked up a solid mark in her first time doing the triple jump with a 9.40m jump. Robin backed up her strong performance in the 1500m with a great run in the 3000m and Dani won the steeple and followed it up with a solid run in the 3000m. It's great to see these athletes continue to improve week after week."
