Trying to be funny results in court charge

A man from Minnesota told a park ranger he was “just trying to be funny” when stopped at Little Sahara State Park at Waynoka.

According to court records, on March 25 about 11:10 p.m. Park Ranger Nathan Rackley was in the parking area across from the south gate entrance to the dune riding area of Little Sahara when he saw a grey Jeep drive past. As the Jeep headed north into the Golden Sands Campground, Rackley says he saw a passenger standing up in the rear compartment of the vehicle with his pants pulled down around his thighs exposing his backside.

Rackley pulled out of the day parking area and saw the Jeep continue all the way through the north Golden Sands Campground with the passenger continuing to stand and expose himself. Rackley activated his emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop. He spoke with the passenger who identified himself as Dustin Wolters.

Rackley determined that Wolters was not intoxicated, and issued him a citation.

Dustin Russell Wolters, 27, of Saint James, Minnesota, has been charged with a misdemeanor of acts resulting in gross injury.
