Meeting rescheduled to address well-site restoration

The May 16 Woods County Mineral Owners Meeting has been canceled and rescheduled for May 30. The meeting will still be at 6 p.m. at Northwest Technology Center, 1801 South 11th St., Alva. Anyone interested in learning more about how OERB can help with restoration of an abandoned well site is invited to attend.

Mindy Stitt, executive director of the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board (OERB), will be the guest speaker for the evening. Stitt will share information about OERB’s ongoing commitment to clean up Oklahoma’s orphaned and abandoned well sites. The OERB’s environmental restoration cost nothing to landowners or taxpayers. OERB has restored more than 15,000 orphaned and abandoned well sites, employing Oklahoma contractors along the way.

Everyone is encouraged to come and bring a friend. This educational program is open to all interested residents, whether mineral owner, landowner or interested citizen. If you have, or know of an abandoned well site, come find out how OERB can help you restore your property.
