Heartland music festival a success

Burlington 7th-12th grade band and vocal participated in the Heartland Music Festival on April 22. The band performed “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and another piece called “Drums of Duruma.”
Emily Burnet, freshman, was awarded outstanding musician on the tuba. Other sections receiving an outstanding section awards were the percussion section and the saxophones.
The choir performed “Do You Hear the People Sing” from “Les Miserable” and a Hamilton Choral Melody. Marshall Burnet, Brenner Clark, Liberty Bird, Emily Burnet and Anna Motycka received outstanding vocalist awards.
