Freedom Gates Boys Ranch raises $13,277 at fundraising auction

 


The hamburger feed and auction held for the Freedom Gates Boys Ranch in Kiowa, Kansas, recently “was better than the previous two years,” board president Michael Simpson said.

“I feel very humbled to live in such a generous community,” Simpson said. The auction raised $13,277. He said about 90 people attended the event at Kiowa's Community Building.

The biggest item was a rocking bench that sold and was donated back. Simpson said the bench sold four times, raising over $1,600. He added that many items sold for two to three times their value. He mentioned some of the other popular items donated...
