OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — An Oklahoma burglary suspect who was treated in the hospital for a seizure is being held on a murder charge after his escape attempt resulted in another patient's death.

Jimmy McCoy III, 25, is accused in the April 14 death of patient Reginald Henry Morrisey, 48, but hasn't been formally charged, The Okahoman (http://bit.ly/2w0ayDJ ) reported.

Authorities say McCoy was arrested April 9 in connection to the ransacking of his ex-girlfriend's apartment. McCoy was taken to Integris Baptist Medical Center after having a seizure while in custody.

Court records say McCoy "ran out of his hospital room while completely naked in an attempt to escape custody," after being uncuffed from his bed to use the bathroom.

Police reported that McCoy jumped on Morrisey's bed and stood on him while trying to escape from the ceiling.

Morrisey died five days later of a blood clot after having seizure-like symptoms. The state medical examiner ruled his death a homicide.

The autopsy report says McCoy contributed to the death of Morrisey when he compromised his hospital care.

McCoy was charged in April with multiple felonies, including first-degree burglary and attempted escape from custody.

He's being held in the Oklahoma County jail without bail.
