Recent auto collisions in Alva

Alva police report a couple of vehicle accidents from early August. On Wednesday, Aug. 2, at 4 p.m. Nancy Sue Case, 75, of Alva was driving a 2014 Ford Edge westbound in the 700 block of Maple Street. She said she thought another car was approaching and moved to the right to give it room. Case’s vehicle struck a legally parked 2005 Cadillac owned by Marietta Dyche of Fairview. That vehicle then struck a 2002 Chevrolet SK1. Officer Jade Cooper investigated.

Two vehicles collided in front of the Rialto Theatre, 516 Flynn, in Alva on Tuesday, Aug. 8, at 1:45 p.m. William Earl Springer, 65, of Helena was driving a 2008 Toyota owned by Northcutt Imports LLC and backing from a parking space. Mandi Rachelle Schoenhals, 31, of Alva was driving a 2015 Kia Soul eastbound in the inside lane of Flynn.

As Springer backed out, Schoenhals made a J turn to park on the north side of Flynn two parking spaces from Springer. According to the police report, Springer did not see Schoenhals, and Schoenhals did not see that Springer was backing. The two vehicles collided. Both vehicles had been moved by the time Officer Timothy Clapp arrived to investigate.
