Delicious homemade pies and more at the Woods County Fair Kitchen

September 3, 2017

Delicious homemade pies and cinnamon rolls, grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, and daily specials “just like Grandma used to make” await everyone who will be visiting the 2017 Woods County Free Fair. Again this year, thick, juicy hamburgers will be the spotlight in the fair kitchen as well as cream and two-crusted homemade pies, and layered desserts from some of the BEST COOKS in the county will also be available.

Thursday’s lunch special will be a generous-size taco salad with all the fixings for $6.50. Friday’s lunch special will include Million Dollar spaghetti, green beans and a dinner roll for $6.60. A great variety of food will be prepared by the Woods County Home and Community Education members, considered by many to be some of the best cooks in Woods County, as they volunteer their time and efforts to serve Woods County fair-goers.

The fair kitchen hours are 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7; 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8; and 9 a.m to noon on Saturday, Sept. 9.

There are over 16 menu items and all can be requested the way you like them. Tena Martin of Alva will be serving as this year’s fair kitchen manager. Come and enjoy delicious, home cooking at the Woods County Fair Kitchen!
