Technic Gold, this year's Alva Robotics Team, attended last Saturday's Heartland BEST Kickoff Day and officially started their participation in the six-week long contest. The Heartland BEST team revealed the game for this year: Crossfire – Fire and Rescue, in which the robots competing will need to rescue a mannequin (made from pieces of PVC), remove "hazardous chemicals" (paint cans with golf balls inside), and put out the "fire" (stacks of Solo cups) using practice golf balls.
