January 24, 2018
Early Sunday morning, at 4:45 a.m., emergency workers were called to an accident scene about 10 miles south of Medicine Lodge, Kansas, on U.S. Highway 281 at mile marker 13 at the Talbott Road intersection.
That’s according to the Kansas Highway Patrol report filed by Trooper Wes Reames (K313).
Casey Williams, 24, of Kiowa, was injured in a one-vehicle rollover. Trooper Reames said Williams was southbound on Highway 281 in a 2016 Ford F350 pickup truck.
“The driver crossed the center line and veered into the east ditch. The vehicle then struck a culvert, vaulted, and rolled coming to rest on its side,” Reames’ report stated.
Williams was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the report. He was taken by the Barber County Ambulance Service to the Kiowa District Hospital and to a Wichita hospital by a medical helicopter. No further information was available at press time.
