OHP checks vehicle at 106 mph west of Alva

A highway patrolman says a vehicle he was following reached 106 mph before coming to a stop on a county road west of Alva.

The driver, Joshua Dean Shreeve, 21, of Freedom, is now facing three misdemeanor charges in Woods County District Court.

According to paperwork filed in the case, on Jan. 29 about noon Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Randal McCullough was leaving Moser’s Towing on US-64 on the west edge of Alva. He saw a westbound gold convertible on the highway that sounded as if it had no muffler and it appeared to be accelerating hard.

McCullough pulled out of the parking lot westbound...
