Southern Nazarene runs away from Southeastern Oklahoma State

BETHANY, Okla. — Micah Speight notched his second double-double of the season and nearly had a triple-double for Southern Nazarene in a 68-54 win Friday night against Southeastern Oklahoma State.

The sophomore poured in 14 points, 11 rebounds and six assists for the Crimson Storm (23-2, 20-1 GAC) who won their 15th straight home game and moved to 12-0 at home this season. Coleman Edwards added 11 points off of the bench was he was 4-for-10 from the field and went 3-for-8 from 3-point range. Noah Starkey nearly had a double-double with nine points and eight rebounds. R.J. Palmer also added 10 points off of the bench as he was 5-for-7 from the field.

The Storm were held to just 38 percent shooting from the field and 5-for-16 from 3-point range. SNU was also 9-for-12 from the line.

Southeastern Oklahoma State held an early 8-3 lead, but an 18-4 run by the Storm, capped by a Starkey layup, gave SNU a 21-12 lead and SNU never trailed the rest of the night. Southeastern cut it to 27-26 with 29 seconds left in the half and SNU took a 29-26 lead at the break.

SNU though held the Savage Storm to just 11-for-29 shooting from the field and 1-for-11 from 3-point range in the second half as Crimson Storm outscored SOSU 39-28 in the final 20 minutes.
