A Mexican Fiesta Buffet and Auction is Sunday, March 11, at the Plum Thickett in Kiowa for Josh Myers, who is battling cancer. He is shown with his wife Kay-Leigh and son Zander, and his parents Pat and Brenda Myers.

No. Josh Myers did not chew or smoke. A diabetic, he drinks only minimally. Yet he was diagnosed with oral basil cell cancer on Nov. 13.

Since that time Myers endured an oral surgery to remove the tumor that required a tracheotomy and a feeding tube on Dec. 16. He was in the KU Medical Center in Kansas City from Dec. 15 to Dec. 22. Surgeons removed 55 lymph nodes and thankfully only one tested positive for cancer.

After some healing he's made 30 trips to Wichita for radiation...
