Hillcats Split with Lions in Thursday Doubleheader


FORT SMITH, Ark. – The Rogers State baseball team took game one by a 5-0 score, but fell, 12-2, in game two to split a nonconference doubleheader at UA Fort Smith on Thursday (March *) at Crowder Field. The Hillcats moved to 11-4 on the season.


For his second straight outing, senior pitcher Spencer Bivenspitched a complete game shutout. This time the State College, Pa. product went the full 7.0 innings and registered five strikeouts and allowed only six hits, all singles. The Lions only had runners advance into scoring position in the fifth inning with back-to-back singles....
