Vehicles damaged in March collisions

Woods County Commissioner David Hamil (at left) was driving a District 1 pickup March 14 when he collided with a car driven by Mary Tyler (seated in front of her vehicle). The wreck occurred about 4 p.m. at Flynn and Noble in Alva.

Two vehicles collided at the intersection of Flynn and Noble streets in Alva on Wednesday, March 14. The wreck occurred about 4 p.m. David Earl Hamil, 60, of Alva was stopped at the stop sign facing south on Noble. As the District 1 Woods County Commissioner, he was driving a 2013 red Chevrolet pickup owned by the county.

Mary Aleese Tyler, 24, of Alva was driving east on Flynn Street in a 1999 Ford car. Hamil apparently did not see Tyler approaching and pulled into the intersection where Tyler struck his pickup.

Tyler's car had to be towed. Officer Timothy Clapp investigated.
