At one time, USPS air mail was the quickest way to send a letter. An extra charge did apply, and it even had a special envelope. I recall it had a blue border and special stamp.
Today, you have the choice of a dozen different ways to mail including overnight delivery. Fed Ex and UPS also offer an assortment of rates including guaranteed and insured delivery.
For manufacturers, air freight seemed like a luxury that reduced profit. Now, instead of weeks at sea or over land, air freight delivery times are measured in hours and minutes. Air freight is highly reliable and if you miss a flight today...
