Alva School Board temporary budget set at $18,702,967

The Alva Board of Education approved a temporary appropriation of 90 percent of last year's budget at their meeting Monday night for the 2018-19 school year. The figure of $18,702,967 includes the general, building, child nutrition and senior achievement funds.

Later in the year, the state excise board and the Woods County Excise Board will more precisely estimate the funds available for all budgets. Assistant Superintendent Tim Argo said that using 90 percent of last year's budget for an estimate is a conservative number.
