Burlington School voters approve transportation and building bond issues

September 5, 2018

Last Tuesday, Aug. 28, Burlington School District patrons voted to approve the transportation bond issue and a building bond issue.

The board had proposed a $350,000 Transportation Bond and a $520,000 Building Bond.

Burlington Superintendent Dr. Stacey Croft said the transportation bond passed by 71 percent. The building bond passed by 64 percent. She said for the measures to pass, each had to have a minimum of 60 percent approval.

The $350,000 transportation bond is to purchase four route buses.

The $520,000 building bond is for a new bus barn and a small form of transportation for the school the size of an SUV or suburban-type vehicle.
