In the early 1980s, I was doing the vocals for a garage band called “The PH factor.” The musicians were young and dedicated – they had a strong work ethic and practiced several hours every day. I only performed three or four concerts with them but I was convinced they could make a go of it on the music scene around Milwaukee and Chicago. Soon after getting rid of me, they did.

Unfortunately, while I was still with the band, one of the members (allegedly) took a check from my checkbook and tried to cash it at the local bank. For some reason, the drive-through teller remembered me, and knew that...
