Missionaries from around the world to speak at Town & Country next week

Missionaries from Kosovo, Thailand, Uganda, Ghana and the Dominican Republic will speak about their experiences at Town & Country Christian Church in Alva next week beginning Sunday, Sept. 30, and continuing through Thursday, Oct 4. A meal will be provided each evening at 6 p.m., and the speaker will follow at 7 p.m.

The Hi-Plains School of Missions will kick off this year's tour with Karl Halverson of Kosovo, who will speak at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. In 2017 Karl and his family returned to Kosovo to reconnect with old friends and connect with their Albanian neighbors as they set up an educational center. The center will provide English language and computer programming courses, and a study center for university students – along with God's goodness and love.

Sunday night, Donny and Hannah Klein of the Christian Dominican Medical Mission, in the Dominican Republic, will speak at 7 p.m. CDMM provides medical clinics, youth programs, sports ministry, church planting and prison ministry services.

Monday night at 7 p.m. Carmen Filbeck of the Christian Mission to the Orient will speak. The group’s principal missions are Lanna Theological Center in Thailand, Community of Blessing medical teams, and the Next Step Initiative, which focuses on helping at-risk youth in orphanages attend Lanna Theological Center.

Tuesday night at 7 p.m. will feature Bill and Lorene McClure of the Gospel Broadcasting Mission and the Christian Hour Broadcast. This couple's radio ministry communicates the Christian message to “as much of the world as possible” in the native language of the “target tribe or nation,” according to the Hi-Plains School of Missions literature.

Wednesday night at 7 p.m. Rodger Fletcher of LivingStone International University in Uganda will speak. LivingStone University provides Christian higher education to Africans seeking degrees in a wide array of occupations.

Lastly, Enoch and Lydia Nyador of Ghana Christian Mission will speak Thursday night at 7 p.m. Their team of 25 church planters, 71 medical workers in seven clinics, and dozens of teachers in two schools have brought the Christian message to countless people, include 25 groups that had previously been untouched by Christian missionary work, according to Hi-Plains School of Missions literature. Further, they've drilled 40 water wells that provide thousands of villages with clean drinking water.
