The 1934 Rose Bowl Game – Part 3

Sports fans often refer to the Rose Bowl game as “the granddaddy of them all.” This is so because it is the oldest of all football bowl games played in the United States.

Back in 1934 it was also the only game played on Jan. 1. The later in the season a bowl game occurs, the more importance sports aficionados attach to it. It was the last game and, consequently, the most important of the 1933 football season.
